A Time to Harvest — Call of Cthulhu Campaign
Something is wrong in the hills of Vermont. The year is 1976, and a team of university researchers has arrived at a rural farming community to document local folklore and agricultural traditions. What they find instead will test the limits of their sanity — and their survival. A Time to Harvest is a complete campaign for Call of Cthulhu, written by Glynn Barrass and Brian Sammons, and published by Chaosium. It draws on the deep well of Lovecraftian cosmic horror with all the atmosphere and dread that the genre demands: isolated communities, unspeakable secrets buried for generations, and truths that no human mind was meant to bear.
What's Inside
This is a full campaign module — not a standalone rulebook, but a complete, structured story ready for a Keeper to run for a group of Investigators. A Time to Harvest unfolds across multiple connected scenarios, each building on the last as the Investigators dig deeper into the mystery surrounding the community of Cobb's Corners. The book provides everything the Keeper needs: detailed setting material for the Vermont locale, fully realised NPCs with their own agendas and secrets, maps, handouts, pre-generated Investigators, and a carefully constructed narrative arc from arrival to terrifying conclusion. The campaign was originally developed as part of the Miskatonic Repository community content programme before receiving this polished hardcover release — proof that its story earned its place on the shelf.
Expect creeping dread over explosive action. Call of Cthulhu campaigns live or die by atmosphere, and A Time to Harvest earns its horror through slow revelation, mounting unease, and the particular vulnerability of ordinary people confronting something ancient and indifferent. Your Investigators are not heroes cleaving through monsters — they are fragile human beings making desperate choices against odds that were never in their favour.
Who This Is For
This book is written for the Keeper — the person running the game. Players do not need it, and the pre-generated Investigators mean even a group new to Call of Cthulhu can sit down and play. That said, this is a multi-session campaign with real narrative depth, and it will reward groups willing to commit to more than a single evening. Note: A Time to Harvest is a campaign supplement — you will need the Call of Cthulhu Keeper Rulebook (7th Edition) to run it. If your group is already familiar with the Basic Role-Playing system or has played Call of Cthulhu before, this campaign slots in beautifully. If this is your first encounter with the game, pick up the core rules or the Call of Cthulhu Starter Set alongside it.
