Description

Hidden Loyalties, High Stakes

The Resistance: Avalon plunges players into the legendary struggle between the forces of Arthur and the agents of Mordred. At its heart, this is a social deduction game where trust is currency and deception is a weapon — every mission, every vote, and every sideways glance could be the difference between salvation and ruin for Camelot. If you've ever wanted to look a friend in the eye, call them a traitor, and be completely right about it, this is your game.

How It Plays

Players are secretly assigned roles as either Loyal Servants of Arthur or minions loyal to Mordred. The forces of good must identify and send trustworthy players on quests; the forces of evil must infiltrate those quests and sabotage them without being exposed. Through voting, argumentation, and carefully constructed lies, both sides fight for control over five critical missions. Special role cards — Merlin, Percival, the Assassin, Morgana, and others — layer in asymmetric information that rewards both careful observation and convincing misdirection. Merlin knows the traitors, but if the assassin can identify Merlin at the end of the game, evil wins everything.

Why Avalon Stands Apart

The Resistance: Avalon refines and expands on the original Resistance formula with its Arthurian theme and deeper role variety. The addition of Merlin creates a fascinating tension: the one player who knows the truth must stay hidden, guiding their allies with just enough subtlety to avoid detection. It's a game that rewards experience but doesn't punish newcomers — the core rules are straightforward, and the drama unfolds naturally from the players, not the rulebook.

Who This Is For

Avalon shines at game nights with five to ten players who enjoy debate, reading people, and strategic deception. It's a go-to for groups who love social games but want more mechanical depth than a pure party game offers. Fans of Werewolf or Secret Hitler will find a familiar rhythm with a sharper edge. It's also a strong pick for older teens and adults who want something competitive and conversation-driven without long setup or heavy rules overhead.
