Description

Survive, Adapt, Dominate

Every turn, the world shifts. A new predator emerges. A food source dries up. The species you carefully cultivated suddenly faces extinction — unless you give it the right traits to endure. Nature puts you in control of evolving a species through a living, breathing ecosystem where the balance of power changes constantly and only the most adaptable survive.

A Game of Evolution and Survival

From North Star Games, Nature is a competitive strategy game where players guide their own species through a shared ecosystem, competing for scarce food while fending off — or becoming — predators. Each round, you'll assign new traits to your species: become Tusked to muscle in on food sources, Fast to escape whatever's hunting you, or Clawed to start hunting the competition yourself. The ecosystem is the board, and every player's choices reshape it in real time.

What makes Nature stand out is how naturally the theme and mechanics reinforce each other. Growing a large population feels rewarding right up until you realize you can't feed them all. Evolving into a predator is powerful until someone else evolves larger. Every adaptation is a gamble, and the tension of watching the ecosystem tip in or out of your favour is what keeps players locked in until the final round.

Who Should Play Nature

Nature plays 2 to 6 players and hits a sweet spot for groups who want something with genuine strategic depth but don't want to spend the first hour reading a manual. It's recommended for ages 12 and up, making it a strong choice for families with older kids, game nights with mixed experience levels, or anyone who enjoyed games about animals, ecosystems, or competitive strategy. Sessions typically run 60 to 90 minutes — long enough to feel satisfying, short enough to play twice in an evening.

What's in the Box

The components are clean and functional, with clear iconography that makes trait cards readable at a glance — important in a game where you're constantly evaluating everyone else's species across the table. The card-driven system keeps setup fast and gameplay fluid, and the modular nature of the trait deck means no two games play out the same way. The ecosystem feels different every time the food supply shifts.
