Magic: The Gathering - Star Trek Play Booster Box - PreOrder

First Contact with the Final Frontier

Universes Beyond: Star Trek boldly takes Magic: The Gathering where no trading card game has gone before — into the iconic science fiction universe of Starfleet, the Klingon Empire, the Borg, and beyond. This crossover set brings beloved characters, ships, and moments from across the Star Trek franchise into Magic's card frame, with new mechanics designed to capture the feel of exploration, diplomacy, and interstellar conflict. Whether you're a lifelong Trekkie discovering Magic for the first time or a seasoned player ready to beam familiar faces into your collection, this set represents one of the most ambitious Universes Beyond releases to date.

Inside the Play Booster Box

Each Play Booster Box contains 36 packs — the standard format for drafting and set collection since Play Boosters replaced Draft Boosters in 2024. Play Boosters are designed to do double duty: they support booster draft at the table while also delivering a compelling collection-building experience for players opening packs solo. Each pack contains a mix of commons, uncommons, rares, and mythic rares, with every pack carrying a chance at special treatments including the striking card art styles you'd expect from a prestige Universes Beyond release. A full box of 36 packs gives you a strong cross-section of the set and solid draft night coverage for a playgroup.

Who Is This For?

This box is a strong pick for MTG players who draft regularly and want to explore a brand-new set together, as well as collectors drawn to the Star Trek IP and the unique card treatments that come with a Universes Beyond release. Universes Beyond sets carry broad crossover appeal — you don't need to be a competitive grinder to appreciate Kirk, Picard, or the USS Enterprise rendered in Magic card art. Note that Universes Beyond: Star Trek is legal in Commander, Legacy, and Vintage, making it a natural fit for Commander players looking to add thematic new cards to their decks. It is not legal in Standard or Pioneer.
