Raise the Stakes with New Scoring Rules
The heart of Inns & Cathedrals lies in its risk-and-reward scoring mechanics.
Inns placed along roads make those routes more profitable — each completed road segment becomes more valuable. However, unfinished roads with inns score nothing, forcing players to weigh ambition against the risk of incomplete construction.
Cathedrals, meanwhile, turn already impressive cities into monumental scoring opportunities. When completed, these cities are worth even more points than usual. But if a cathedral city remains unfinished at the end of the game, it scores zero, potentially wiping out a large investment of tiles and followers.
These additions bring an extra level of tactical planning to every placement decision.
