Eldfall Chronicles: Northern Wind delivers that feeling in spades, dropping players into a world of warring factions, ancient magic, and brutal tactical combat where no two sessions play out the same way.

What Is Eldfall Chronicles: Northern Wind?

Published by Freecompany, Eldfall Chronicles is a miniature-driven skirmish and campaign game set in the rich Eldfall universe — a world shaped by elemental forces, crumbling empires, and the relentless advance of chaos. The Northern Wind Core Box serves as a complete, self-contained entry point into the game, anchored by a 160-page Northern Wind Quest Log and Comprehensive Rulebook that walks players through lore-rich campaign missions as well as head-to-head skirmish play.

At its heart, this is a game about building and commanding a warband through a living, reactive system. The massive card suite — 41 Profile Cards defining your fighters, 18 Behavior Cards shaping how they act under pressure, 37 Event Cards that twist the battlefield mid-game, 32 Chaos Cards that inject unpredictability, 28 Synergy Cards for combo-driven play, and 65 Upgrade Item Cards to develop your warband over time — means every game breathes differently. The card ecosystem isn't decoration; it's the engine driving tactical depth and replayability.

Who Is This For?

Northern Wind is aimed squarely at players who want more than a one-and-done skirmish experience. If your group enjoys campaign progression, levelling up fighters, and building toward long-term tactical mastery, this box is built for you. It plays with two or more players and suits ages 14 and up. Game sessions run moderate to long depending on mission scope, placing it comfortably in medium-to-heavy territory — rewarding for players ready to invest in the system, but supported by a thorough rulebook that doesn't leave newcomers stranded.

What Makes It Stand Out

The scale of the card library in this core box is genuinely impressive — over 220 cards spanning profiles, behaviors, events, chaos, synergies, and upgrades. This isn't a system that runs out of things to say after a few sessions. The Quest Log doubles as both rulebook and narrative campaign framework, giving groups a structured reason to keep coming back. Component quality lives up to the ambition of the design, and for players already drawn to the Eldfall universe, Northern Wind slots neatly into the broader ecosystem of faction expansions and cross-compatible content.

Specifications

Specification

Detail

Publisher

Freecompany

Players

2+

Recommended Player Count

2

Age Range

14+

Play Time

Varies by mission

Game Weight

Medium / Heavy

Language

English

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0603/4980/8728/files/9de8c7b7a70a4bab9b309694544bace5_0.webp?v=1792611282
